Last weekend I went home to spend some quality time with my brother, Cameron. It was a quick, unplanned trip but we definitely filled our weekend with fun activities!
I arrived late Friday night and we hung out at his place with his girlfriend, Katie, and his friends/roommates, Randy and Steve.
Saturday we woke up to a beautiful sunny day. We picked up their friends, Meredith and Joseph and headed to Mt. Si. We hiked the 8-mile round trip mountain only to hit snow at mile 2! We had an entertaining time hiking up two steps and sliding down one. When we passed hikers with trekking poles and cramp-ons we knew we weren't near sea level any more!
We had a windy lunch at the top (amazing views) and headed back down not too long before our fingers were numb. We headed back to Seattle and got ready for a night out at the Showbox where Handful of Luvin', Flowmotion and Vicci Martinez played full sets and drew a great crowd.
Sunday we roused bright and early (before the sun) on Sunday and headed east to the mountain. We picked up Tara and Nate and went to Stevens for a day of skiing/boarding. The snow wasn't amazing, but it was decent and the hilarious conversations on the chair lift and fun moments in the snow made it a super fun day.
We headed back that evening where our mom and dad cooked an amazing spread of stir fry and we all chatted and recovered from our weekend.
