The Curler Barrette

Girls: remember those pink foam rollers?

They look something like this:

My mother used to give me my evening bath and roll up my hair into these squishy rollers. I'd spend half the night trying to find a comfortable sleeping position with a fluffy head swollen to twice my normal size.

In the morning, with the curlers removed, I would wind up looking something akin to Shirley Temple meets Goldilocks.

Well, apparently the very same curlers are making a come-back in Asia.

As a hairclip.
I mean, like, wear outside the house to hold your hair back during the day kind of clip.

I have to say, this picture is not one of my finer photos but for your visual edification I had to take it stealth-like on my phone at one of my work seminars in Saigon while I pretended to take pictures of my PowerPoint presentation.

So, it looks like this just may be all the fashion rage out West by 2011.

I'm just sayin'.


I could be giving you some serious fashion secret information here.
