Lungs is the debut album from this Brit girl and her back-up band. The sound blends soul, indie rock and alternative with strong vocals and an incredibly full sound. The album was released mid-July of 2009 in the UK and sat for several weeks at number 1 as well as snatching up a number of awards (and still going strong).
The entire album is solid, ranging from rocking fast songs to a few more experimental melodic tunes reminiscent of Milla Jovovich's
The Divine Comedy.
Highlight tracks are
Dog Days Are Over, Girl with a Fist, Between Two Lungs and the cover
You've Got the Love (originally performed by Candi Staton).
