Album of the Month | Lykke Li Wounded Rhymes

The second studio album from the Swedish indie/electronic/pop singer. Definitely one of my new favs. I feel she really came of age in this album. Her voice is more mature and powerful. I could only handle so much of her sweet lollipop sound so frequently heard on her first record.

This album received "universal acclaim" according to its Metacritic score of 83. One of my favorite quotes on the album is from Sean Fennessey of Spin
"(the album) is equal parts seething ice princess and lonely snowwoman, vacillating almost track by track between fury and despondence over a scotched relationship" and that "the dual objectives—weep for me, fear me—collide throughout, creating a dicey, but gripping album."
