The 12 Apostles

Road Trip Alert!
One major Australian attraction I missed in my previous time here was the famous 12 Apostles.

Josh and I decided to take a day and rent (Australian translation: hire) a car and drive down the Great Ocean Road through Victoria.
I think the last time (when I was here studying in 1999) we didn't make it was because it was a bit further than we thought.
Yeah, that kind of happened again.
Deja Vu.
The good news is we made it. Finally. Only 12 years in the making.
300+ km on a hilly, windy road isn't easy.
And you have that whole left side of the road/car driving thing going as well.
There were some great little surf towns along the way we stopped at for flat whites and meals.

Worth the wait, especially since we made it just in time for the sun to peek through the clouds, on a relatively overcast day. Well, for one photo at least. I can't figure out why the weather won't cooperate. We're on a schedule here, people!
We need blue skies and nice 30% puffy white clouds. M'kay. Thnx.

Overall, it was a great day road trip and I can finally say I've actually been there with all those postcards I used to send.
