Artist of the Month | Friendly Fires

Stumbled upon this fun band in my quest for "all things related to Hockey." Actually, it's listed as "high degree of similarity," but whatever...I'm in Love!  Yes, that's right, with a capital L.
I almost want to retroactively post this to my best of for 2009-or 2008, I guess. Now, that's BIG!

Friendly Fires are an English alt dance/punk band that released their debut album in 2008.  They have been nominated for several awards, including a Mercury Music Prize, Best British Group, and British Breakthrough Act.

You must check out the extended self-titled album which features 5 remixed tracks at the end. The whole album is strong, with a diverse sound, great lyrics and a beat that will definitely get you moving. It's going to be on my short-list for my iPod this summer. A definite drive-around-with-the-windows-down kind of album.
